Pirelli Scorpion ATR Reviews
Buy if you are gonna need for off road
I take my Pathfinder off road for work so these Pirrelli Scorpions see some tough use so this review covers that for sure. The main downside with these tyres is the quick wearing away of the tread due to the soft compound used in its manufacturing. They do grip considerably well because of that soft rubber so I can understand the pay off. On road they are brilliant for an all terrain tyre but don’t compare to summer tyres for example.
Needs replacing after 25k miles
I keep buying more sets of these tyres for my Disco 3 as they do everything I need them too. Onroad they grip fine (not perfect but they are thick tread) but offroad they really are amazing which helps here in NZ. This set lasted 25k miles now and needs replacing.
Great offroad
Fitted to Land Rover Disco for over 60000kms now and getting close to needing a change. In mud gravel snow they perform quite good but on road they arent good for down or braking. When they get past half of the wear the grip deteriorated.
My Third Set
I am now on my third set of Scorpion ATR and I have to say they are the best. I leave them on all year round on my LR3 covering over 120 000 miles in total I believe. On the normal road conditions they were comfortable and probably as noisy as any chunky tyre. Anything other than a flat road and they really show what they are good for!
